Description: Basically to revert the changes towards zeny nerfing per monster killed either on field or in instances. It honestly feels like punishment to new players, since the veterans have had years amassing billions of zeny. It’s noticeable too since UBH previously gave around 30-40m zeny per 30 min run and now it gives 15m-20m. Effectively half.
Why is this a good idea?
It won’t punish new players by making amassing zeny even harder than it already is.
What risks or downsides does it have?
It might inflate the server a bit, but at the same time not really. It’s been that way for years before, and the prices barely fluctuates.
Additional Info:
Essentially, I don’t get what was the idea behind the zeny nerf. Surely it’s not to punish new players, but it feels a lot like it. Fear of inflation? There’s quite a ton of zeny sinks currently to take care of that. I just don’t see the vision behind the nerf. Feels unfair.
I think the zeny drop has been reduced exactly to fight inflation so they aren’t going to put it back to how it was, at least not without an alternative.
I agree with you though, it is a hard hit for all the newer players so if you have an idea on how to balance things out I’d like to hear it.
My first thought is increase the zeny requirement for all late game enchants. Like yorscalp, dimension boots and stuff, HoL garments and accessories. All of them should have their zeny cost per enchant attempt increased as a huge sink for late game/veterans who make new classes. That way it doesn’t hurt new players too much. And well, revert the zeny change. So introduce a big sink at endgame to manage inflation
I wonder if you’ve ever made a pair of Dimensional Boots. The cost is already staggeringly high, where a lot of zeny sinks into the combining of materials that are used to enchant. And the amounts you are required to craft are not small. So leave those out of this. (I assume I could be considered as a vet since I’ve been here for few years and have at least one fully geared character.)
Technically, inflation is not a bad thing. It devalues the zeny of people who have been amassing billions, which is a good thing.
However, I wouldn’t say it’s good for new players. It means raw zeny farm are far less valuable, and raw mats are worth way more.
Guess who can farm the truly sought after materials? Veterans
Anyway, I felt the impact of the raw zeny nerf, but after the prices stabilized, I feel it’s a good thing for newbies as well. It means zeny is more valuable, which is way easier for newbies to farm than Chapter 1 or HoL mats, for example.
