Not sure if the suggestion has been made before as I couldn’t find it with searching but is it possible to have a seperate test server? With @item and the essentials to test out possible builds? There is no rocalc for 4th job and having a test server would greatly help in planning towards various playstyles for everyone. Thank you!

@Set_R I probably should have clarified but the possessions on that server would in no way affect or be carried over to the main server. The purpose of it would only be to test builds and playstyles.

So, I kinda agree, but disagree. We need a test server for bugs, not builds. It seems we have a lot of bugs, and I think I’m currently experiencing one, but I’m not quite checking thoroughly. One big issue with this, is, it may kill the market and create a meta market. If everyone tests what is best, they will hike the prices simply because it will be the most in demand thing. This type of thing needs to naturally happen over time. Part of the journey here, is figuring out what is best, or what fits most. It creates a circulation of wealth, as people attempt builds and fail, or rather, prefer another route.
It can also become very boring if you just figure out what you need. You might just give up on it, because anticipating the result is part of the reason we grind mindlessly. It is what makes grinding somewhat bearable.

@EvilLumi I don’t know how a game would suddenly become boring because of knowing better, like what if you for example invested in gear that was sub par and there existed a better alternative for it? I also have never mentioned anything about meta builds and whatnot, simply said different builds. Could be funny autocast meme stuff or anything.
So far all I see is people playing 4th job skill builds here and I’m just curious to see how 3rd job skills match with particular setups. I’m not trying to create a ‘meta’ market. It already exists with those MVP and sealed MVP cards. That doesn’t mean people magically stop grinding for stuff.

First of all, we have a test server where we work and test before patching.
Also, some players already have access to the test server, as you can see from the “Icey’s helper” role on discord.
If you want access to the test server, you can apply to be a tester, but this also implies that you make yourself useful to us and our community, i.e. you have to actively participate in testing new content, items or whatever we are working on.
Access to the test server only for testing builds / equipment is not in our sense.
