Show Party Performance Statistics After Tower of Trials Runs

Description:
Add a party statistics summary for Tower of Trials (ToT) runs.

The idea would be to show some fun performance statistics for everyone in the party after the run ends, similar to an end-of-run scoreboard.

For example:

  • Highest Melee Physical Damage

  • Highest Ranged Physical Damage

  • Highest Magic Damage

  • Highest Total Damage

  • Most Damage Taken

  • Most Healing Done

  • Most Healing Received

  • Possibly other relevant statistics that are already tracked by the server

The statistics could show both the player’s name and the corresponding value.

Why is this a good idea?
The main purpose is simply fun and additional feedback after a ToT run.

Tower of Trials is a very difficult instance, and parties will often finish their run without actually reaching the final floor. Having a statistics recap would still give players something interesting to check after every attempt, regardless of how far they managed to progress.

It could also make repeated runs more entertaining, since players could compare their performance between attempts, different builds, or different party compositions.

This is not intended to provide additional rewards or affect progression. It would just be an informational feature.

What risks or downsides does it have?
There should be little to no balancing impact, since the feature would only display statistics collected during the run.

Some possible considerations are:

  • Tracking detailed combat statistics for every party member could have a small performance impact depending on how combat data is currently handled.

  • Damage should probably be separated into Melee Physical, Ranged Physical, and Magic to avoid misleading comparisons between very different builds.

  • Statistics should only include actions performed inside that specific ToT run.

  • Some categories may need additional rules, such as whether overhealing counts as healing done.

  • A global ranking could favor certain classes, party compositions, buffs, or specific floors, so some normalization or category separation might be necessary.

There is also the possibility of players becoming overly competitive about the numbers, but since this would mainly be a fun statistics feature, I don’t think it would be a major issue.

Additional Info:
Since Tower of Trials is very difficult and reaching the final floor is relatively rare, I don’t think the statistics should depend on completing the instance.

Instead, after leaving the instance, the party could check the results through the ToT NPC outside the instance.

For example, the NPC could have an option such as:

View Last Run Statistics

This would display the statistics from the party’s most recent ToT attempt, regardless of whether they cleared the tower or were defeated earlier.

The results could include something like:

Last ToT Run Statistics

  • Floor Reached: 47

  • Total Damage: Player A — 8,421,550,320

  • Melee Damage: Player B — 4,210,332,100

  • Ranged Damage: Player C — 6,833,120,450

  • Magic Damage: Player D — 5,122,840,700

  • Damage Taken: Player E — 2,410,550,200

  • Healing Done: Player F — 1,830,220,400

  • Healing Received: Player E — 1,520,110,300

It could also be interesting to show the top 3 players in each category instead of only the highest value.

Another interesting extension would be a game-wide ToT ranking on the MuhRO website.

For example, the website could have leaderboards such as:

  • Highest Total Damage in a ToT Run

  • Highest Melee Physical Damage

  • Highest Ranged Physical Damage

  • Highest Magic Damage

  • Highest Healing Done

  • Highest Damage Taken

  • Highest Floor Reached

This could be separated by class or damage type to make the comparison more meaningful.

A global leaderboard would give players another fun reason to optimize their builds and compete for high-damage records, without necessarily attaching any rewards to it.

The overall goal would be to provide both a post-run party recap and, optionally, a broader server-wide statistics leaderboard for players who enjoy comparing performance and pushing their builds.

Firstly, I would like to say I’m not a huge fan of hyper optimization parse culture in some MMOs.

In my opinion, there are some roles in Tower of Trials (henceforth TOT) that would not have clean statistics to that really measure effectiveness of the player. Those being:

  • Lurer (Biolo/Inqui etc..)

Monsters lured would just be another analog to how many floors were completed.

  • Cardi

Healing done is basically a fake stat and does not measure a cardi in TOT.

  • Elemental master (support)

  • Devotion Imperial Guard

Damaged absorbed/Healing received is more a factor of your damage dealers performance/class ; and the number of higher floors you have monsters that snap into the back line.

My worry is that there is a significant amount of work that would be done for a few vanity stats

-1 In almost every games I played that have this system fostered a toxic culture of pointing fingers and comparing DPS. This risks shifting the focus from teamwork to competing over big DPS numbers. Also to Aour’s point, ToT is not just a simple do big DPS and win. Some classes have higher devo priority = die less = more dps. I don’t see the point of this.

Its just for fun guys, nothing else!!! keep easyyyy
We can show only for the party, doesnt need to go live

hmmm. “fun” but this will lead to competition within the party instead of purely party play/ teamwork… won’t that defeat the purpose of ToT in the first place?

i could be wrong but just saying

I think this is bad idea as it will easily lead to unfair comparisions.

It was already mentioned but different classes have different roles and while some people will understand that, other will not.

Even within same dmg type, you have classes more single target oriented and others more AoE oriented. Also, the idea you will appear with bigger number at the end will mostly sure make players to play way riskier just to get more dmg to brag, let’s be real on this xD.

Not even sure what would be a good think about this, as total dmg in a run don’t even help you know how far in DPS you were in your last floor, as you don’t know your floor-by-floor dmg or required dps for it, this would be only a tool to compare dmg, and you can already go to dummy to see your high dps number for that

Guys, I understand your concerns, especially regarding excessive competition and the toxic behavior this kind of system could potentially encourage.

In that case, we could completely discard the idea of any global ranking or public leaderboard.

The suggestion could instead be limited to an optional party-only feature, available only to parties that actually want to see this kind of information after their run.

That way, nothing would be publicly ranked or compared across the server, and groups that are not interested in performance statistics could simply ignore the feature entirely.

-1 from me, parties in game should be for fun, friendly and welcome newcomers, don’t try to make it serious.

btw, if we have statics things, someone might do unfair comparisions.

such as my bad Cardi performance

-1. All I see this leading to is recruiters either getting numbers/asking people to tell them their numbers to determine whether or not they’re “worth” the party invite. This would end up shafting certain builds that are still okay enough to bring along in the tower (melee AC for example - not what I main for ToT myself, but do play as if melee department needs a bit of extra). Classes like DK and SX do not need more favoritism, and this would be a golden chance just for that.
