Revert change to depth mob

For players who are just in equipment progress and could farm reputation and items with great difficulty, this was a very hard change. No parties are formed, most of the server’s veterans already got everything they needed from that dungeon.

This change greatly harms players who have little time on the server and aspire to the equipment of this dungeon.

I hope a sightly drop chance increase in compensation for the difficult change :frowning: depth anolians hit so hard with that crystal rain skill, insta dead.

The problem here is that you sound like you expect other people to start depth parties for you. Since you need depth, why not ~s t a r t y o u r o w n p a r t i e s~ ~?~

Have some initiative.

@Kirino something will be added to motivate more players again to go there

If I’m not mistaken, depth mobs had lower stats than intended before, so this is just a bug fix really. It’s a shame that it wasn’t noticed until now, but it can’t be helped, reverting this change wouldn’t make any sense. If players in official server can farm there, then I don’t see why we wouldn’t be able to.

No parties are formed, most of the server’s veterans already got everything they needed from that dungeon.

Depth parties are weird in the sense that there are always players who want depth parties, but no one wants to create their own party, either because it takes time to recruit enough people, or because they don’t know enough about depth and don’t have the confidence.

That’s why, when a new player that is willing to recruit for depth parties shows up, you see a party in depth every day. Then it stops when that person gets enough reputation. That’s why, if you look at #lfg logs, it’s like a cycle of 2 weeks of depth parties and then about 2 weeks of no parties.

What I want to say is that depth parties can happen, I myself collected reputation purely through depth parties, and it was just recently, I reached 1500 reputation just last week there, never farming solo. It took a few weeks. Honestly you just need to either recruit parties youself, or wait for someone that is willing to do it.

Also you still have the option to buy depth samples as an alternate method of getting reputation. It’s 16 reputation per day per character, so assuming you have a few characters that can take the quest, it’d give reputation at a pretty decent pace. Although it’s kinda overpriced at the market rn.

Oh and about the new difficulty of depth, I went there just an hour ago, so I’ll write my impressions…

I went there with my AC, and I certainly died much more compared to before, like 5 times in 30 mins. Not surprising considering I don’t have end-game gears yet, and it’s a melee autoattacker with 0 defensive skills, and I have to facetank all the mobs for some seconds since my dmg is not good enough for now. But it’s still doable, I just need to be careful to not stay on low health while a big mob is on me from now on. I’m not getting 1-shot for sure. Maybe need to invest in some more defensive stats/gears to make it more comfortable.

Overall, I guess the main difference is that I actually have to use some pots now, whereas I was almost never using it before the patch. And I’m somewhat more reliant on priest buffs, all my deaths were after the buffs ran out. Also if I had modified senior rgan or two-eye/one-eye dollocaris then I wouldn’t ever die for sure, but my armor/shield/garment are all +9 still so I can’t obviously.

@jinbou

Same here, no more mindless +30 mobs mobbing for me.

Diamond dust and waterball now hurts so freaking much…they basically one shot you and send you to kingdom come.

Party play should be encouraged more, if you cant find one make it so I think it should stay at it is.

@lakadema

Yeah I just blink from mob to mob and kill the groups of 3 to 10 where I blink, bigger mobs not worth the risk.

Diamond dust and waterball now hurts so freaking much…they basically one shot you and send you to kingdom come.

Maybe coldproof pot would be good there, since their lightning skills are kinda weak

Although those 2 skills don’t bother me anyway

Waterball they cast rarely, and when they try I can either interrupt the cast or kill the caster before waterball kills me

Diamond dust I feel like they just never use when I farm there. I’m not sure why, maybe the very quick attack spam from AC interrupts it, or they die fast enough that they don’t get a chance to use it. Yesterday I had a 1hour farming session there and they didn’t use it even once the entire time. Today they cast it once, but it was most likely because I lagged and my character stood there without attacking for a few seconds, I couldn’t see anything

@lakadema I would like to see more party play on the server, currently the LFG channel feels very empty

I have seen more depth parties being assembled since the patch though, so that feels really nice, even if it technically comes at the cost of “screwing over” new players more or less

I had no problem finding members when I shouted for a party. I think at most it took 30 mins, but usually faster to fill up. Over geared players often joined (and kinda carried xD) the party, too! I just changed mains but plan to spam party chat again soon, and you’re welcome to join :slight_smile:

So making this short ~ monster strenght won’t be reverted. Something will be added still, that might motivate more players to go there.
