Remove Max Pain for 15 stars and Below Betelgeuse

Its just plain stupid that a 90% redux MVP has MP and also have moving Traps in the middle of him that hit hard as hell, Can Regenerate the damage you’ve done if you dont hit him for 2-3 secs, can One Shot Any DPS class that doesn’t have HP above 200k. It’s already hard to kill him without proper setup before the patch. But now? Do you even guys test it? We can’t even see if he will cast Max Pain since the cast bar will be gone if he got hit :smiley:

The fight is still fine with the improvement of his stats after the patch. But Max Pain? (Unavoidable party wide damage that will just kill everyone if you just struck him with single ability??)

I understand if you add Max Pain to his abilities for 15 stars and above since you will get even more rewards and good amount of the new frags but for 15 stars and below? Its just frustrating :upside_down_face:

Nothing wrong with. This rework is supposed to be a party instance and not a solo instance. If you know what you’re doing and how to build around the weakness of the MVP you’ll easily finish it. Keyword: Strategy. We’ve been doing max stars with three man pt BTW

Why do we keep asking for new contents to be easier when we are longing for harder instances/dungeons? Just to easily get the mats? or gear your characters faster? This makes no sense

The update just came out yesterday, give yourself some time to play around with the changes before complaining about them.

He is harder after the patch but there are strategies you can plan around to counteract him such as dark claw & dispell.

I think there’s a merit to this post, the new difficulty of betel at floor 75 with max pain and all is fine but please remove max pain at floor 50? And at the moment, the max pain is kind of buggy as sometime the cast bar disappeared and make it hard to time your attack and the orange effect on betel should last for the entire duration of that skill effect but it’s only last for an 0.5 seconds. This make huge party a no go since its chaotic to instruct everyone on the timing, people are just using brute force to kill it.

@sakura The lack of cue of Max Pain on Betel is troublesome. Bad enough that Betel doesn’t say the skill name out loud like most other mvps that uses it like Aquila for example. The yellow hue on the sprite also only lasts like a split second. The cast also buggy as you say. At least gives some better indicator when the skill is active.

@potatosen agree the boss is not even that hard u just need a good pt, my pt can duo but we running trio just for playing safe. Just get 1 dps and 2 sups and u can solo the boss easily

+1 on remove MP or revert to previous version for 15stars and below, simply because it’s unfair for newcomers to have to deal with a more difficult version of Betel compared to those who already made their gears. As for people concern with the new mat drops, just limit them to appears in only 16stars and above reward chests (assuming if it isn’t already the case).

Guys, I’m talking about the 15 stars here at Floor 50. We did run pre-patch Betel constantly, and our gears are phase 5 already on every guide that our Wiki has for the classes available on our server before I manage to clear it for the first time. You got what you wish a harder version at floor 75, but how about the newcomers who want to try CT and farm their mats for the Nebula Armors?

Do they just buy from us, who have just farm the instance many times in the past?

We already have a hard time clearing the pre-patch betel since we can’t kill him if we just suddenly die and return back to the fight. But right now? I already spent hours inside the betel room on floor 50, and I only killed him once when I didn’t die from Max Pain. It’s just a never-ending reset happening inside Betel if I just die from Max Pain again and again.

hmm, I think, if there are bugs like that, the thing to focus on should be to fix those bugs, not reducing the instance difficulty just because temporary bugs make it more difficult than it should be.

I want to mention that Max Pain has counterplay with many skills (Like Pneuma, Dark Claw and so on).

In case if its offical, we need to see if we really remove it or how to improve. For now, play around and play as a party (which is the core mechanic of the game)
As for bugs…if something is bugged it will be fixed for sure.

Bugs will be fixed. But this thread sounds a lot like Meteorite Farmers complaining they are having trouble soloing it with ther 11 alts to max the 25 fragments quota per run.

Beginners can still do 15* with simple coordination(this will be even easier when fixed), all it needs is understanding the timings to DPS with Max Pain nullifiers(Dark Claw, Pneuma, Empty Shadow) or even waiting and not attacking. Heck, our group even wiped with max pain once and was able to complete the instance with tokens without resetting Betel.

We don’t have a lot of party content rn, now that we have, people want to make it absurdly easy to solo it again.

Betel has HUGE hard counters if you understand how to build your character. It is not that scary. Its a good idea to learn ur modifiers.
