Hello.

I would like to suggest the implementation of a PvP Tournament event with official betting mechanism. I will first explain the tournament system and then the gambling mechanism.

A. PvP Tournament Participation Requirements
- Character should be a 3rd Job or Transcendent
- Level 200/70

The base of the PvP Tournament Battleground’s KVM (Kreiger Von Midgard) game mode, best of three for each round. KVM is a 5v5 or 3v3 group battle with the objective of killing the entirety of the other team. It will be held in a simple square map with no objects to encourage clashes.

The tournament will be viewable by anyone by livestream.

B. Betting Mechanism
This is just a basic idea, feel free to tweak with better suggestions if any. I’m not a gambler at all so I’m not fully sure of the details…

In this event, any player (NON-CONTESTANTS) can freely bet and watch the event. In essence, there will be an NPC where viewers can deposit zeny to place bets on a team. The NPC will also tell you the betting details of each team. You can place bets every round and get your winnings at the end of each rounds.

This is a system made to encourage participation from the general public and foster interest in the PvP scene.

C. Conclusion
Through this event, I hope that the non-PvP players as well as PvP player will have a space to have fun. The competitors can compete, while the gamblers can watch and maybe get interested in PvP as well.

I can’t think of a cons except for maybe a need to prevent game fixing.

Agree to all, but I guess the next thing to discuss is the prize for the tournament winners. I vouch for actually exclusive costumes, one that you can’t get anywhere else, and is untradable/account bound. As for what it should be, I don’t know, ahahahaha~

But may I take this answer as a positive one for the tournament idea in general? Since you seem okay with discussing the prizes…?

This year, we had planned a PvP tournament as a special weekend event. However, due to Muh’s stroke, things have really been thrown off course. We were already tight on time ~ and now even more so. At this point, we can’t say for sure whether the tournament will happen or not. Other special weekend events are also at risk. We kindly ask for your understanding… unless you want us to burn out and crash the whole server into a wall. :sweat_smile:
