Middle gear urgent matter for new players

Hi all,

I’m a new player on your server, here is my feedback as a suggestion.

There is no middle gear worth farming you really need to adress that matter, I believe many players will come and go as soon as they hit this same problem.

Currently there is no middle step between Grace equipments and end game equipments.

As soon as you hit Grace, nothing is worth farming except zenies becose of the drop rates or convertion of Unknown parts Amethyst Fragments or Snow Petals.

A simple solution to that is reducing the cost for convertions of those respective materials for example.

Those gear are not worth much and do not give any significal advantage. I believe this is the most urgent matter of this server. Otherwise new players like me will come and go.

I love this server, have donated and will donate more if I see GMs listening to simple player base concerns.

Thank you, cya in game :stuck_out_tongue:

Greywolf Gears, Snow Flower Gears all help you farm zeny faster to get endgame gears . I honestly think this is kind of a skill issue if you feel that they’re too much to farm tbh.

Skill issue ? what do you mean ?

The text is clear: there is no alternative to zenies farming: the middle gear grind is to high.

What is it that you dont understand ?

There is no “skill” required here. Its a simple issue.

We’re aware of that and we want to update things related to those equipments, but I can’t make promises about the speed of implementation right now

Thx alot  As new players, it’s reassuring that we feel understood, specially if we want to invest and call this place home. Serv is amaizing by the way, nice job !

@Maikoa And this isn’t a skill issue, it’s an over inflated value issue. Grace sets are worth hours of your time, and require one episode quest to obtain, which is now a buyable ticket. Gray wolf requires another episode quest, and once you finish, you can buy ONE piece with the result. Farming for said gray wolf, in comparison to ANYTHING BEFORE IT, is VASTLY longer, because the item requirement and the drop rates, along with the zenny, exceeds EVERYTHING up to this point, but IMMENSLEY. This is the issue, and it’s not based on skill, but rather, based on an outdated progression system made by gravity that was not corrected for this patch.

Unfortunately, Gravity is at fault for all of this, but they have good reason to keep it the way it is. I personally strongly disagree with people having to farm for gear that is irrelevant to the episode, as if they are playing through that episode today.

I agree with OP here, when I started it felt like once you get grey wolf there’s no incentive to improve your gear until you leap to full endgame equipment.

if youre playing ro expecting that you can play endgame right away just from entry level gear, youre playing the game wrong.

@EvilLumi Yeah but you need gear to farm gear. If you’re saying farming anything before gray is “vastly longer”, you should look at the required items for end game. BSB requirements alone lmao

I don’t think the progression system here is flawed. We’re in a mid rate server I don’t think its unusual to ask for people to farm for their gear.

I’m for adjusting some of the values, particularly perfect enchanting, but to say there are no options is just flat-out wrong lol

Literally nothing relevant about this because this is about personal progression and nothing to do with the episodes gravity has released lmao

@Muh

A very simple solution / temporary would be to add a Vending Machine that has better convertion rates.

@Chirp Obviously we still need to farm these gears, but today we arrived to a point where the grind for these low quality gear is vastly outclassed by farming zenies.

We simply say its more fun to farm for episodes gear rather than being stuck farming zenies from Grace to late game gear.

We are simply asking to calibrate the progression ratio for new players. Or rerrollers.

This server is having a good momentum with a lot of new players. It’s a great opportunity to increase its vitality.

@Chirp Actually wearing a clown nose I see.

The intention of this change is simple: Create a proper progression system. if you haven’t noticed (you haven’t at all) Once you reach 200, the power spike allows you to go straight into gray wolf territory. Why in god’s name would any of us do anything else? the skip for this content is the traits, and that’s something we can’t change unless we change our rates. Since we can’t change our rates, we have to adjust our progression. When you can already farm gray wolf with a grace set, it makes everything before it obsolete. So, what’s the point of all the other gear if access to gray wolf is granted after grace set? it’s pointless.

Now, grace set takes an hour, or two to farm. Sometimes 3, depending on the player and experience with the game. It costs items, ones you collect during this run, and no zenny necessary.

Transition: Gray wolf - requires days of farming, and more than a hundred million zenny.

Conclusion: The leap from one to the other, is bounds. It would hurt someone new to even look at.

Solution: Make gear before 200, easily accessible to new players, and lessen that jump, so no further complaints like this are made.

Would you like more of a roadmap or is this okay for you?

Also, please learn to read. I never stated that farming anything before gray is vastly longer, I said gray wolf requires vastly more time than anything before it.

@EvilLumi I’m sorry i misspoke but i guess you didn’t understand. Anything after grey is much harder to achieve than just “a couple hours of farming”. You still bring irrelevant statements onto this discussion, and I’ll gladly ignore it, for your sake. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I simply didn’t see any issue because I never had any issues bridging that gap. Never had any trouble going from illusion to grey because illusion stones for illusion gear enchanting is approachable. Grey wolf has dailies on its own as well as dailies from clearing daily hunts for heirlooms, and guess what? Amethyst fragments

I think people are looking at this in a weird way where “Why not just farm zeny instead of farming mats” when the gear comes from prior people who have farmed said gears and are switching them over for their upgrades. This is how game economies work by the way. Its a different, but viable, option to getting your gear. I sold my prior gear for less than what I made it for. That’s what makes it worth it to buy outright.

Wouldn’t it make better sense to tune the present numbers instead of having to do dev work to introduce other gears into the discussion? The talk about “make gear before 200” is just introducing an extra step before level 200 power spike kicks in, and before they throw their old gear sets out lmao

I think there’s a moving goalpost being introduced by asking for massive changes with the progression when the easiest and fastest solution is to adjust the numbers so that the ep18/19 gear is more approachable lol

I still want to ask @“lopobiaelunecaress”#993 here what actually they mean by mid game gear? For me I legitimately consider it as Grey wolf or Dim Glacier/Snow Flower, where there’s sources of dailies and the materials to make the things. That’s why I said perfect enchanting and similar exchanges should be adjusted for ease of use.

Honestly I think the game kicks in post 4th job, and eden and illusion gears cater well to people starting off. Anything past that can be improved by cheap/farmable gear at a higher level to ease getting into ep18/19 content.

To list down some of those things:

Illusion, soutane, 17.2, temporal gears in general

Garment - convertible wings

Accessories - memory of thanatos

Weapons - Glacier and Dimensions (Cheap, easy, and kicks in with no fuss)

Boots - Unknown boots

After any of these points you can already start to farm, or complete, materials for items for craftable equipment such as PCC, Moan, Crown of Beelz, Vesper

If you look at the guides there’s plenty of options people have listed out, this is why I think @“Maikoa”#965 mentioning this as a skill issue is something I can sorta agree with.

I think it only makes sense to figure out what will give you the most progression at the easiest pace, and people get so worked up about bridging some imaginary gap instead of grabbing their levels and getting their power spikes and then getting cheap, bis, accessible equipment that already give them a big boost in damage.
