Currently many amazing outfits are wasted if you wear them on a merchant class, since the cart obscures them. I love the classes but it limits the fashion options and feels a little annoying to deal with.
It also makes it harder to judge your sprite size during the events, where precise movement is needed
What risks or downsides does it have?

Same as hiding pets or mounts for certain classes.

Will wait for Muh to give the final comment on this but as far as I remember, the hidecart function worked by taking advantage of a glitch in older servers. That’s not to say it is impossible to exist now but it has some technical difficulties to be implemented and is not simply a matter of we just wanting to enable an option or not.
