Extend the Valentines Event for 1 more week

I will keep it very short: It’s a punishing chain of quests.
Specifically: The 11th quest.

This item rarely drops, and should be looked into, because even with bbg, my friend and I get about 1 per 15 minutes. It is a punishment to have us do something like this. Frankly, I believe this item excludes BBG, because I am getting more cards, than I am getting items.

Please consider changing the amount as well. For future quests, please also run a test, so that you are aware how difficult and rather punishing these types of items can be to obtain. Fun should be the primary motive.

Agree with above, and I want to use this thread to give feedback on a different problem I have with the event too if that’s okay:

While it makes sense to keep the details secret for more story-oriented quests (like hidden dungeon), it feels unnecessary doing that on a simple item-collecting quest like this. Sure the item names should be a secret, since figuring that out is part of a fun quiz. But the number of items required shouldn’t be a secret.

The reason for that is: Some of these are extremely time-consuming quests, and not everyone has the ability to complete them. As a casual that only farms a few hours per week, it’s literally impossible for me to complete some of them, unless I straight up buy all the materials from market. I couldn’t even reach the 11th quest OP is talking about, I only know about it from a friend that has been struggling and venting about it.

And that is not a problem, it’s completely fine to have some challenging quests for the more hardcore players, I’m just not the target audience for some of these quests. But if that’s the case, I should at least know that beforehand so that I don’t waste my time trying in vain, ending up with only frustration and no reward. Will it take 1 hour or 20 hours? If I know that I can just say “okay this nth quest is not for me, whatever, gg” and give up without getting frustrated, and that’s all I want for the next event.

@EvilLumi Fun should be the primary motive.

This.
Item farming is good and all and everyone has its own definition of what is fun or not.
But the fun factor should always be the priority on this type of event.
Not a shot on the Easter event, I’m pretty much uninterested in the costume meta so I don’t participate in it.
That said, the echoes I have on it is that it isn’t really different than regular farming sessions (with “enigmas” on top of it).
Which isn’t quite what I’d call fun.

hello everyone
the valentine’s day event will not be extended, because we have created a calendar, when which event starts and when which one ends. with the next patch the valentine’s day event ends and the spring event starts. check discord > events> planner for more details.
I can offer you to write the solutions of the valentine’s day event in the wiki for the last days.

An event should be fun and everyone has a different idea of fun. If you don’t like this event, then don’t do it. Nobody is forcing you to play it.
There are players who had a lot of fun at this event and there were also a handful of players who solved all the quests within 30 hours without any help!
There were guilds that got together and puzzled and farmed together, which is of course much more fun than playing alone, because sometimes you have to think outside the box and sometimes you need a different perspective.
if you can’t manage something or find it unfair, then look for other players and do it together, shared suffering is half suffering and maybe it will result in some fun and even another friendship?

that’s all i have to say on the subject. my offer with the solutions stands, write me if you want me to implement it

@GM_Icecold Creating an event which excludes a specific type of people is not an idea, it’s a problem.

This event did not exclude any player, the items can also be collected with a low level char and eden gear. the only thing that was a bit hard was the boy’s heart, which was a bit too high in number. but there were also solutions for that, ask guild for help, ask friends for help, farm zeny and buy it. There were many possibilities, the time was limited to 2 weeks for 12 quests.

If you don’t make it in time, that’s the way it is.

Valentine’s Day is a short period of time (actually just one day) we ran it for 2 weeks and have now moved on to the Spring event.

Every player has a different availability and every event has its own times. If you can’t make it, then you have to accept that.

@GM_Icecold “farm zeny and buy it” that sounds counter-intuitive for an “item-hunt” type of event though xD

@GM_Icecold I don’t think the event was bad per se (just a bit too niche perhaps).
But it certainly could have done with a little more tweaking.
Some of the items were outright frustratingly hard to drop (no need to sugarcoat it) and that whole “you need a specific number but it is hidden because why not?” was not really well thought.
