Depth 2 Rewards

Given that Depth 2 requires higher level gears to farm on, it doesn’t make sense that BB farming can still provide a higher zeny output equivalent than D2 farming. Personally, it would make me think of not even upgrading more once I have reached enough DPS to 1 hit Grotes, making other contents kinda useless. Additionally, with the low drop rate of Time Dimension Magic Runes, players like me - who would rather do perfect enchant upgrades than do RNG - would take so much time farming zeny just to reach the TDMR requirement. Lastly, since the enemies are tankier now, the gear requirement for new players to farm there further increases yet the rewards are still the same. So, here are some of the ways that may be done to improve D2 farming:

  1. Increase drop rate, especially TDMRs, just enough to compete with BB farming zeny output. I don’t know how the math works here but this should entice more players to farm D2. Based on my experience, a 30-min duo farming yields me only 1-5 (sometimes, none) TDMRs wherein in BB farming, I usually get at least 10-15. Comparing the yield and prices, I’d rather farm BBs then just buy TDMRs instead which kinda loses the point of doing D2 then. Being able to get at least 4-5 TDMRs in 30 mins should be enough to make D2 farming another excellent option.
  2. Make kill count in D2 be shared in the whole map. The 3000 kill quest just to get 10 TDMRs and 30 Abyss Magic Runes is too difficult and very time consuming. By sharing the kill count to all party members in the whole map, more parties will be formed to do D2. It will further encourage and emphasize that D2 farming is a party play dungeon (if that’s really the intention). With the concern that maybe someone can bring alts and farm the daily quests, I think the monster buff would make it difficult. So, everyone is really encouraged to play their respective roles with this setup.
  3. Remove the requirement of Temporal Crystal to make Abyss Magic Rune. This silly requirement is probably the biggest bottleneck on why TDMR is so hard to obtain from exchanging materials. This makes the jewels/fragments almost useless because there’s no point in exchanging them to a higher level or material just to be stuck on obtaining Temporal Crystals.

We have an open market so i don’t get why BB farming has anything to do with TDMR. Just farm then buy, or make parties and farm the dailies.

2 sounds like needless QOL. Consider the time to implement such changes just to get more kills across the map. Just organize your party better. :^)

3 is.. weird. I think its okay to have prior things available for reuse on newer gear. A better suggestion for that one IMO is speeding up regular OGH runs.

I disagree with this part. Making kill count be shared in the whole map does not encourage real parties or party play at all. All it does is making the people who are already solo farming there to form a party and invite each other, and just keep solo farming different parts of the map. The people who are actually doing party play would barely be affected by this change, it would mainly help solo players with endgame gears. Alt farming is also a concern.

Increase drop rate, especially TDMRs, just enough to compete with BB farming zeny output

Tbh I don’t believe that map can compete with the zeny of BB farming, especially in the long term. Even if they buff the drop rates. It’s simply that the demand is limited. Everyone always wants MVP cards, TDMR demand is not as high. If its drop rate is increased the market price of it will decrease. Also depth2 map doesn’t drop anything else valuable, while niff2 drops many other valuable loot too.

But sure, I’m not against it, depth2 does feel a bit unrewarding so a small buff would be nice.

Id like to see a buff on the drop rate as well or rewards in general for depth 2 either by dropping zeluniums/shadowdecons, currently it feels so underwhelming for the effort to put in to farm in depth 2. With the current change the most mobs are 2-3 times tankier than before yet the loot and quest rewards stays the same.

Probably draft/recruit a better D2 static party with little to no deadweight member for faster clear. I can already imagine what giga loophole solo players will do with what you suggested.

But yeah a little boost on droprate would be nice.

You don’t understand the basics of economy

If there’s more D2 materials in circulation, that would just make the D2 resources sell for cheaper since there’d be more competition with other sellers, they wouldn’t be making more zeny than before.

If anything, it would actually make D2 produce less zeny compared to before since more people will complete their D2 sets faster and as a result there would be less demand for the D2 items, forcing the price to be lower until the remaining people are willing to buy them.

@Hyuu There is big difference on time spent while one shotting the mobs and taking 2-3 hits to kill it. A slight drop rate buff would be fine as well as variety in drops (zelunium, shadowdecon or something) to at least make it worthwhile.

I have to agree with this. Having farmed that zone for the rep, I received nothing in comparison to actual farming zones. This is quite literally the hardest place to farm, and it should show in rewards. Just no BB.

Let me start off by saying, if you enjoy grinding endless in a small and narrow dungeon, then I’m very happy for you, but, that is not a goal most would parttake in, especially if the drop rates were abysmal.

Story time: So, a friend of mine, and myself, decide to -rush- the depths content. Now, this consisted of about 1 hour of depths runs daily, and after about 2-3 weeks, we moved unto Depths 2, which we then grinded for the reputation.

Once we got enough depths 2 reputation, we ended up with about 140+ Time Dimension Magic Runes, each. This means, we grinded 1500 rep, killed I’d say about 40k+ mobs, and ended up with very little to show for it.

Now, I know I’m going to hear the argument from crazy people who say this is endgame, and yadda yadda, but some of these crowns aren’t even worth getting after the determination that MVP hats still hold better builds on certain classes, and are overall FAR more easier to make.

So, the argument is this: Yes, this is an endgame zone, but we already have gear that competes on the same level, if not BEATS these crowns (weapon combo) for certain builds, that does not require months of grinding to obtain.

SO, this needs to be seriously discussed, because since my friend and I finished the rep grind, we have not decided to go back in there, because-why? to grind ourselves to death and show very little progress towards something that MAY be better? but the cost of -once again- HUNDREDS of hours? (quite literally this time) The answer is no, we’re a lot smarter than that. We want to continue playing AFTER we obtain these things, not burn ourselves out completely.

I was originally going to make a suggestion to just raise the drop rate of these things, but it shouldn’t just start there. This dungeon is overall just boring. As a duo, we flew by and just wiped everything clean very quickly. With a much larger group, I would probably just auto follow instead until it was over. This is NOT end game, and does not feel like it at all, hence this suggestion. It’s just another 1 shot dungeon that you race through, but this time? you get very little in return. This is not okay.

Since people have already farmed this to death, and continue to (Bless you) I think we should up the rewards for the mob kills, and possibly add a box which gives a chance to get these magic runes, along with other items.

Explanation: There is very little anticipation in this dungeon. It is a cookie cutter dungeon, with a card-like drop rate, with a fixed reward system. This? is boring. it offers nothing but an expectation and stationary count down, towards a static reward. It’s probably one of the worst additions we have, because kro was made to bore you to death.

Solution: Create more variety within this system, so that it doesn’t feel like a stagnant progress that you work toward. Give us something MORE as a reward (not BB) expand our drops to include something that we can sell (bsb, zelu/shadowdecon/temporal spell) and make the enchants more affordable.

As of right now, this is a dungeon I avoid, and it is NOT because it is difficult, but because it is boring, it’s never fun, and it provides very little progress towards ANYTHING. Time is far better spent on other places, which provide more amusement, provide more progress, and provide less strain. Quite honestly, ore farming in summer is better spent, and feels more rewarding, even though I have EVERYTHING.

It just feels like an obsolete and primitive dungeon, and it really does need some life put into it, because I really want to enchant and possibly make more of these crown and weapon combos, but I feel like it’s just not worth the time investment, as it will burn a lot of it, when I can just get other things instead.

I know this was long, and I hope I made myself clear. Most importantly, thank you for reading.

There is a similar suggestion here. I agree wholeheartedly on the topic, the drop rate and the quest reward doesn’t justify the effort and time spent there. Especially after the latest update where the mobs just got beefier and requires more hits to kill hence time (except for the 0.1% top players) to farm.

Some will say that making the mats easier will make the price lower. But I’d argue that making it easier will prompt players to be more inclined to gamble for higher level enchants and cause more demand instead.

A minor suggestion of my own as kept I seeing players ignoring the time dim weapon boxes. Can we get a recycler for it? Similar to dim glacier weapons. With the % for the Time Dimension Magic Rune at 3-5% chance or something while the lesser mats are obtainable at a higher percentage.

Edit: Also can we remove the zeny requirement for synthesizing of the lower grade mats? Players also just outright ignore them cause the zeny cost just cuts too much into the profit to craft higher grade mats. A single Abyss Magic Rune cost like 330k zeny to craft from the lowest grade mats. Not including the Temporal Crystal cost.

+1. Just make time rune drop 1% chance.

Given that BB drops are pumped to 1% drop rate , d2 mobs can use at least the same treatment for how hard it is.

-1, MVP headgears being BiS for some classes and easier to obtain than crowns isn’t logical justification to make D2 crowns easier to obtain.
Using that logic, mad bunny & dim glacier shields should be made easier to obtain because illusion silver guard is BiS for some classes, but we aren’t doing that, are we?

One thing I do agree with that is too grindy though is the D1 reputation to unlock D2, getting 3k reputation feels like a sisyphian grind.

While I do agree that dungeon content is boring and would rather instance content any day of the week myself, I don’t think that alone is enough to justify making the grind faster.
I’m conscious this point conflicts with my previous one of D1 feeling like a sisyphian grind, but the distinction between the two for me is, D2 is being farmed because I want to farm D2; while D1 is being farmed not because I want to be in D1, but because I want to be in D2.

I’m farming D2 by choice but I’m farming D1 because I have no other choice.

@“CongaLyne”#748 isnt his post about making it more rewarding. What’s that got to do with the rep points. The crowns acquisition got nothing to do with the rewarding factor btw. It’s instance loot from OGHCM+ rep points.

The grind can stay just as long, it just has to make sense economically. And don’t start on the nonsense you mentioned last time about some dungeons should be worse again this time xD

I’m just going to tell you again many rewarding factors of different dungeons in this server are all decided by muh’s decision. In fact imma list so many here:

  • geffenia gold is boosted by server custom spawn rate
  • Nif BB is 5x the drop it should have been as official BB drop is card rate (0.2% for muhro standard actually, yet 1% here)
  • Custom implementation of BB for mjolnir underground
  • Heck even the implementation of zeny in mobs in the first place skew all official recognition of dungeon profitability towards high mob count
  • Dim boxes being itemised allowing for even zeny farm in those maps and better profitability due to mass stacking of dim mats.
  • List goes on and on…

The very best end game dungeon now isn’t sufficiently reward in our player opinions. A view shared by many here, and we hope it gets better.

Nothing to do with rep points! It can stay 1.5K to make players play longer, but the process itself can use more mats payouts as the most end game dungeon for now.

there shouldn’t be any fear that the mats will flood too much as this thing is basically a black hole with the current rune drop rate and difficulty to hit even lvl6 and impossible difficulty for 8+.

Instead of increasing the drop rates, we could make the dimensional weapon exchange have a chance of giving abysmal magic runes and time dimensional runes at a low % like ocgh temporal exchange.

The current exchange rates are a joke (iirc they give 1 of the lowest grade of fragments).

Not sure if it’s appropriate to say it here or if i should make another post, but since it’s related to Depth 2 “farming” anyway, maybe we could also make the weapon boxes have a similar price to the dimensional weapons when selling them to NPCs instead of having 5z value? Would make it more convenient to get the additional zeny that we could make instead of spending more time opening, getting over weight, and then selling the weapons.

@CongaLyne How is it not justified? you’re literally isolating a zone because you want a terrible experience in it, and you’re SECURING the idea that someone will not waste their time going there, or spending that time, because it’s just not worth it? So you want people NOT to feel excited about end game? and prefer to keep a dull experience? Wake up already, this is not end game content, because you can SOLO this area. The challenge is long gone because of gravity’s choice to make things easier. You seem to be living in the past, and you’re refusing to see how deeply this game has changed, and you still believe that pre renewal content exists in this game. It doesn’t, and you’re promoting BORING content because you feel it’s CHALLENGING to overspend your time.

You even admit you’re FORCED to farm D1. Why is this even a thing? gear that allows us to farm this zone is already obtainable, and this zone is just some fabricated KRO manifestation that sways people from approaching it, because there are far more better activities to parttake in. I’m voting to give people MORE reason to go down there, or rather, give them A REASON, instead of just farming zenny and outright BUYING what they need. This is about helping activity pick up, because that can become a great farming zone, isn’t being just another abandoned pit.

Face it, this is a field, with a bunch of porings around it, and there are far better porings out there that we can kill, that offer more. It just doesn’t make SENSE anymore.

You’re making it sound like a piece of cake, but I wonder how many people can actually one-shot depth2 mobs, especially after the latest changes that made them so much tankier. I have endgame gears but I definitely don’t think that map is “easy” to solo, it’s anything but that. And I think (compared to other maps) it’s a very fun map because of that difficulty, I certainly enjoy the challenge and occasional deaths, hard disagree that it’s boring.

Don’t misunderstand, I do agree that it feels a little unrewarding, I brought it up plenty of times in the past too, a small buff to its rewards would be good, I like @“lakadema”#470 's suggestion. But I don’t agree with your reasoning on why it needs a buff, since my experience in that map has been the polar opposite of yours.

  1. +1, or alternatively, increase the reward for the 450/3000 kill quest if the recent patch’s goal was to encourage party play

  2. -1, bad idea, guarantee it’ll be abused with alt/leechers, also keep in mind with the current system you still get kills even after death if corpse still close to dps

  3. -1, this won’t be the last time you’ll see this type of system of needing instance items for exchange. In fact, it’ll most likely get worse (see pic below taken from kro as part of Garden of Time item exchange). In addition, it’s unfair to those who farms those instance. Instead, updating the instance quest board and coin shop as others have previously suggested seem to be a better alternative
