Just to elaborate more on my comment:
I do agree, that it may look a bit unfair to those, who keep farming the Illusion dungeon for the MVP spawn and there are other players, who simply don’t do the “hard work” and just wait for the map announcement to pop up and then kill the MvP.
And I do agree that this may be frustrating as it may take 20-30 minutes for 1 person to spawn MVP if killing alone.
And I also believe, that with a little investment this can be made a bit more fair by introducing an NPC dialog. Not only the AFK player actually HAS TO not be AFK and click something, but also he/she needs to be part of the farming group to be provided with that important information about MVP being spawned or not.
Also I have a feeling that my comment wasn’t fully understood, so I’ll explain more:
I’d introduce an NPC, which would say something like: “Hello adventurer, help me clean this dungeon from the monsters that have been bugging me all day long!”
This dialog doesn’t say anything, BUT if you kill 20 monsters in the map and visit the NPC afterwards he’d say this instead: “Thank you adventurer! You’re helping out a lot, but be careful, if you kill # more monsters, a powerful and more dangerous foe will appear!!!”
Then, if you decide to leave the map (turn in quest or do something else), you’d have to kill 20 monsters again in order to see the second dialog.
Also to prevent those pesky AFK players staying in the dungeon after killing 20 monsters and clicking the NPC occassionally to check the status, there could be another condition to make sure they need to be active. For example, if you don’t kill a single monster within next 2 minutes, the first dialog would show up instead of the second one and you’d have to kill 20 monsters again in order to get the second dialog.
I hope this description makes it more clear.
So +1 to the issue, -1 to the original author’s suggestion, but perhaps my idea could inspire better solution.
