Cardinal Dimensions Set | Nullify the gem consumption of Adoramus

I’m a Cardinal, I’ve noticed that my blue gems are being consumed very quickly and I’ve concluded that this is because I’m using the Dimensions set.

However, it doesn’t make sense, as Adoramus is cast automatically when using Arbitrium even when we have no gems.

Therefore, I would like to suggest that Adoramus gem consumption be removed only when it is cast automatically when using Arbitrium with Cardinal Dimensions Set.

Other dps cardis don’t cry about this, you shouldn’t too.

I’ll be honest and say I don’t think this is necessary. Gems are fairly cheap, weigh basically nothing, and I believe they can still be bagged. Just put the gems in your toolbar/item bar and keep track of them.

@crybabyhunter thank you for your contribution, it was very constructive for the discussion. Keep up the good work!

As other people stated, there are other classes that also consume items/ammo to cast and it works as a gimmick on their respective jobs/kits, i dont think removing gem consumtion its really needed in this case.

@Xisde there is no depth to the logic behind this, being constructive isn’t warranted. This is more a case of “having your cake and eating it too”.

@crybabyhunter There is logic. It’s forces an item to be used, while using a skill that is substantially weaker and does no damage in comparison, while consuming something you would rather keep for more important useful things, like ancilla. The set burdens a priest, while trying to weigh a benefit of damage that isn’t that great at all.

I understand how difficult this must be to comprehend because you’re desperately acting ignorant for no apparent reason, but don’t bring logic into an equation that you know nothing about. It’s best to ask what it could be, instead of assuming nothing. Please humble yourself.

@Mysto I understand your point and agree with it.

However, in this case Adoramus is cast automatically when using Arbitrium even when there are no gems in the inventory. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense for the gems to be consumed when there are gems in the inventory.

Also, It’s forces an item to be used, while using a skill that is substantially weaker and does no damage in comparison, while consuming something you would rather keep for more important useful things, like ancilla.

I would like to emphasize that I suggested nullifying blue gem consumption ONLY and SPECIFICALLY when Adoramus is cast automatically when using Arbitrium with the Dimensions set. In all other cases, gem consumption will continue as normal.

The thing is:

@Xisde “even when there are no gems in the inventory”

It just does not makes sense. If you can autocast the skill without consuming any item, why consume it when you have such item?

I don’t use any job that has this, but i’d vote +1 on removing any consumables from autocasting IF you can keep autocasting it even without those consumables. Just make it consistent.

@EvilLumi if you wanna be a dps so bad then you have to act like one, and that includes sucking up to deeply ingrained in game mechanics like carrying materials. Other dps classes has to deal with the same thing, so why should make an exception for your class? Stop acting like a spoiled crybaby.

“Humble yourself.”

That’s rich coming from someone who has done nothing but complain, write bad reviews, and roll with the wrong crowd. What did you do when that bad crowd got banned for their own dumb antics? You cried about it. You haven’t contributed anything of value to the server to be this entitled. Take your own advice.

This is sounding more like a bug, “even when there are no gems in inventory”

Classes that utilizes TDRC autocast consumes a catalyst (perfs/WH/SA)

Imported from legacy Flarum.
Original author: Xisde (Flarum #1325)

@aewuu I didn’t know that, I just checked with an SA who uses TDRC autocast and he told me that 2 talismans are consumed per skill use, one talisman for used skill and another for autocast skill.

Do you know if Cardinal is the only class using TDRC that uses a skill that doesn’t need a catalyst (blue gems) and autocast a skill that needs a catalyst?

Its just SA/Archers/NW/Cardinal iirc.

These classes can auto-cast the skills despite not meeting the required catalyst in inventory (ex: 1 talisman, 1 arrow etc). However, the difference between these classes and a cardinal, I would reckon is that a cardinal normally wouldn’t bring 3k-10k bgems

While SA/Archers/NW would bring 3k+ talismans, arrows etc.

You can also refer to here:
https://forum.muhro.eu/d/2459-time-dimension-rune-crown-reverberation-arrows/4

IMO: Since AP is not consumed from auto-cast, and no additional SP is consumed. The auto-casts shouldn’t consume additional catalysts either.

@aewuu so there is a bug report on this https://forum.muhro.eu/d/3412-autocasted-adoramus-from-tdrc-consumes-blue-gems

But based off the link provided it seems like this is expected behavior? I added my comments on that thread

@Xisde

Auto-casting Adoramus does consuming blue gemstones on Racing Cap Arch Bishop in official so i think the time dimension set would do too, even it does not mention in description

P/s: in this video if you notice the blue gemstones on hotkey bar its consumed on every auto casting

Fix it to not autocast adoramus when you dont have gemstone seems to be the answer here.

Imported from legacy Flarum.
Original author: EvilLumi (Flarum #372)

@Sora No, the fix is to eliminate the consumption cost. What if I don’t agree to use ado at all? I can’t wear the set? and now I have to carry arrows like an archer? which I also need for other buffs/res? that’s annoying and broken, in a very negative way. It’s a burden, not an upgrade.

No.

@Sora calm down!

I don’t think so, because the other classes that uses TDRC autocast will never run out of catalysts (arrow, talisman, etc.) to cast skills, because the primary skill that generates the additional skill cast also needs a catalyst.

Furthermore, while an SA spends 30z on a talisman to cast a 4th class skill, a Cardinal is forced to spend 1,500z to autocast a third class skill that contributes practically nothing to the damage.

Another point is the weight factor: SA, WH, NW and musicians can carry more supplies with less weight because their catalysts can be stored in packs while gems and stones used by Cardinals and EMs cannot.

This discussion led to another opportunity for improvement, to implement a feature that allows elemental stones and gems to be packaged in bundles, 500 for gems and 50 for elemental stones, for example. There is an NPC on the official Brazilian server that does this.
