Bring Back War of Emperium and Battlegrounds with a Fresh Relaunch Plan

Title: Bring Back War of Emperium and Battlegrounds with a Fresh Relaunch Plan

Description:
I am a relatively new player on MuhRO, and I did not personally experience the past issues or drama around War of Emperium or PvP-related content. I only learned about it while asking around and trying to understand why WoE and Battlegrounds are currently not active or not a major part of the server.

As a new player, I think it is a bit sad to discover that two iconic Ragnarok Online features, War of Emperium and Battlegrounds, are not really available as active long-term content. WoE and BG are part of what made RO feel alive, competitive, social, and guild-oriented.

My suggestion is not to ignore what happened in the past, but to ask whether WoE and Battlegrounds could come back under better conditions, with a clear and structured relaunch plan.

For example, the relaunch could include:

  • A temporary test season for WoE

  • Scheduled Battlegrounds events or active BG windows

  • A limited number of castles at first

  • Clear rules about behavior, abuse, and fair play

  • Adjusted rewards that are attractive but not mandatory

  • Separate reward balancing for WoE and BG

  • Clear communication from the staff about what is allowed and what is not

  • A feedback period after the first test phase

I would also like to ask if WoE and Battlegrounds are planned to return at some point, and if there is any approximate timeframe or roadmap.

Why is this a good idea?
From a new player’s perspective, WoE and Battlegrounds could add a lot of long-term motivation to the server.

MuhRO already has a lot of PvM content, farming, instances, and character progression. WoE and BG would add another layer of gameplay focused on guild activity, teamwork, preparation, competition, and PvP-oriented progression.

It could help:

  • Bring more life to guilds

  • Give players a reason to build PvP/WoE/BG characters

  • Create more long-term goals after PvM progression

  • Encourage teamwork and strategy

  • Give casual players a way to experience PvP through BG

  • Bring back older players who miss competitive content

  • Make the server feel more active and complete

Battlegrounds could also be a good middle ground for players who are curious about PvP but not ready for full WoE competition. It could help players learn PvP mechanics, test builds, and participate in group content without needing to join a major guild immediately.

Even for players who are not hardcore PvP players, WoE and BG create activity around the server. They give guilds and players something to organize around, and they make character progression feel more meaningful.

What risks or downsides does it have?
I understand that WoE and PvP content can create drama, balance complaints, toxicity, or accusations of unfairness if they are not managed properly.

Since I was not there when the previous issues happened, I do not want to judge the past situation. But as a new player, I believe the risks could be reduced with a more controlled relaunch.

For example:

  • Start with a test season

  • Keep rewards moderate at first

  • Use clear written rules

  • Limit the number of castles

  • Open BG during specific time windows or scheduled events

  • Monitor participation and behavior

  • Adjust balance or rewards after feedback

There is also a risk that staff workload could increase because WoE and BG often create reports, complaints, and balance discussions. That is why a test phase could be safer than immediately bringing back a full permanent system.

Another possible downside is balance. Some classes may perform much better than others in PvP, and certain items or mechanics may need adjustments. However, this could be handled progressively through testing, feedback, and seasonal adjustments.

Additional Info:
Many Ragnarok Online servers keep WoE and Battlegrounds active by using seasons, limited castles, scheduled PvP windows, adjusted rewards, and clear moderation rules. MuhRO could try something similar, starting small and evaluating the results.

As a new player, I think it would be great to know whether WoE and BG are still part of MuhRO’s future or not.

My main questions are:

  • Are WoE and Battlegrounds planned to come back to MuhRO?

  • If yes, is there any estimated timeframe?

  • Would the staff consider a limited test season for WoE?

  • Would the staff consider scheduled BG events or active BG windows?

  • What would need to change for WoE and BG to return in a healthy and fair way?

This suggestion comes from a new player’s perspective. I did not experience the previous drama directly, but after learning about it, I still think WoE and Battlegrounds could be very positive features for the server if they come back with clear rules, good communication, balanced rewards, and a fresh start.

I’m not a PVP player myself, but I do think PVP will attract more players to come to MuhRO. Yeah it can create drama, yet even without PVP there will always be drama on internet one way or another lol. I think just give warning like staffs always do if someone getting overly toxic/heated will do, and just ban the player who keep being unreasonable after the warning.

At the end of the day, if you don’t like PVP, we always have a choice not to participate in it, while let them PVP players play their game. More players, more benefit to MuhRO.

Did this really need a second thread?

Like I’ve said on the other thread. No to this idea if its going to be in the same server. Yes if its going to be on a separate server.
