Title: Put a short summary of the idea in the topic title.
Add a command that will force Auto Follow the party leader.
Description:
A command issued by party leader that gets all the people within range (range to be determined) to affect the auto follow feature (shift+right click).
Why is this a good idea?
Saves people with alt trains having to change between every game account they have active to Shift+right click every time they hand in a quest or any other action that breaks the auto follow function (like toons getting stuck behind a corner and breaking follow due to distance) party lead would walk back issues command to re-engage the follow function.
What risks or downsides does it have?
if other actual people are in the party it would cause them to follow also but would be broken as soon as they click on something
might be an good idea to add a @partyreturn command that can be issued by party leader to trigger all party members to use the @return command. Same reasoning as the @autofollow command as another QOL improvement.
Nothing against those who do dual clienting, but I can’t support making their lives even easier xD, by dual clienting you’re already saving a lot of time in for example, farming Eden Coins or Forgotten Heirloom quests, getting a much larger quantity of these items in a much shorter period of time compared to someone who doesn’t do dual clienting, it can’t all be advantages. -1
I mostly agree with this and I multi account with 8 accounts lol. At the same time, RO is kind of made around that concept at this point. But this goes back to the discussion of “balance” between those who can’t / dont multi account and those that do.
Would be nice as QoL for those who do but I also understand the arguments against it.
You are contradicting yourself though?
Jetago’s argument is that the feature is bad because he considers multi-clienting an unfair/unbalanced/some other “negative” qualificator advantage that he is against, and as such he is against making it easier for people to multi account.
So the entire argument is based on you choosing/not being able to multi account and “it not being all advantages” as he said, NOT on the fact htat it would be a “bad idea for the server”. Bringing QOL features to people who do multi-account is not "bad for the server’ because not having those QOL features has not stopped the people who do multi account from doing so, so your argument makes no sense.
As I said before though, I am not for or against the QOL feature because I used to be against multi-clienting when I refused to do it myself. I understand both sides of the argument. If anything I would be a lot happier to see features implemented that allow single-client players to bridge that gap.
multi clienting is by itself an advantage, but let’s suppose that’s not unfair, what would be unfair would be making multi clienting easier and giving multi client users even more advantage
