Title: Put a short summary of the idea in the topic title.
The Wandering Pumpkin Event needs some adjustment
Description:
I was really happy to see such great costumes among the event rewards, but once I saw the event mechanics, I immediately realized where this was heading. To be honest, I expected that by the time I post this, we would have seen the event start at least once, I assumed it would run every day or two. The problem is that the goal required to trigger the event is too high, furthermore, there is no incentive for an individual player to donate more than 25 tickets, and it seems to me that many people aren't even aware of the event's existence.
Based on this, I’d like to make the following suggestions:
- Add periodic event announcements: a simple hourly announcement stating how many tickets are needed to start, or set specific thresholds (e.g., 500) and announce whenever a threshold is reached.
- Lower the number of tickets required to start the event. I’d suggest cutting the requirement in half, though I’m not sure how actively people would donate if everyone knew about it, so perhaps a 1/3 reduction would be ok.
- Similar to the main event, increase the rewards for donating more than 25 tickets.
There is also the issue of the event launching at a somewhat random time, meaning some people will inevitably miss it. I don’t know if tickets are lost if a player donates but misses the event, but if they are, that needs to be addressed too; otherwise, people will be less willing to donate tickets.
Why is this a good idea?
I don't think I'm the only one who liked the costumes, but in the current situation, only a couple of people will see them, if anyone at all.
What risks or downsides does it have?
An incredibly lucky player won't be able to sell one of the costumes for 1b
