Some items are sold by the NPC at a fixed amount. However, there are vends that sell those same items for a higher amount. This to me feels like people are just preying on newer players who aren’t aware of all the npcs and such since they just started. For example:

And if you look at the vending history, you can see that these items are being sold at the higher price.
I would recommend restricting those items from vends for selling them at a higher price than the price you can buy them from an NPC.
OR giving an alert when people are buying these items that says something along the lines of “X can be bought from an npc for cheaper. Try @wn”

There’s just a little issue with limited stock items from para market as in theory they could be sold out

@Muh Agreed in theory, but at 10k of each it wouldn’t be. Unless you’re referring to acid bombs heh

@Muh I guess if that is the case having the warning when buying will still do a lot for them. Since the sold out stock is a pretty rare scenario, just having the warning tell you it can be cheaper and try @wn will inform the player of the @wn functionality but also let them find the npc to check it again if they need it in the future. I guess it could be annoying for players who already know that it’s sold out, but it’s a rare case and only one click to get past the warning.

im not aggreeing with someone who tries to scam people.
but im aggainst with the idea to “Restrict someone who want to sell it at higher price”
first, what if someone LAZY to walk? and prefer to just buy it from vending? since u can just directly @ws.
u cant and dont get to decide at what price people should sell something.
Nb: if u wanna do good, then u buy the item on npc, and sell it in @ws at the same price as NPC,
problem solved.

I think this would fall into “too much QoL”.
I would rather teach and recommend new players than butchering a free economy.

Naturally on vending things tend to be more expensive than if you would buy X item off an NPC or another person via #trade. This suggestion would result in pointless extra work for the staff to restrict something that doesn’t need restricting.

There’s nothing “natural” about the vends shown in those screenshots though, they’re all clear scam attempts targeting newbies, which is a nasty thing to do.
Sure I feel like this is low priority, but if there’s an easy way to prevent some of these scams, without disrupting other people, then it should be done.
I feel like this suggestion is fine as it is. If “convenience cost” for lazy people needs to be a thing like some people are saying, then you could also just make it so the max allowed price on vend is 25% higher than the NPC price, or something like that, the numbers can be adjusted. At least it wouldn’t be as bad and less people would attempt such scams if the profit was low.

Sure, understood about not restricting people. Does anyone have any concern about just adding a informative warning that just tells players that they can buy it from npc for cheaper and use @wn? It will still allow players to sell the items and buy the items at whatever price, but the buyer will just be informed when doing so.

easy solution, u can solve it urself, open a store = make a vending of those item with NPC price ..
that’s it.

still, who got to decide how big is “convenience cost” .. like when decide on rules like those, its a unclear.
its just best to give information to all player about use @wn.
but at the end of the day, if the buyer feels like want to buy it anyway from the Vending, what stopping the seller sell those at that price?
i just dont like the restriction.. OR JUST MAKE THE ITEM DISABLE ON TRADE. would that solve the problem? i dont think so.
as i said, i dont aggree with people who tried to scam, but, they just put the price, they never do actively / trying to get people buy from them. its ALL THE BUYERS, that decide they want to buy from vending. when they decide to buy it, they decide it’s the right price to buy, otherwise they wont buy it.

Moving it to rejected
We will surely use the solution from https://forum.muhro.eu/d/2379-npc-buyable-indicator-in-item-descriptions instead.
