1. The Shadow Gear Market is Inactive
Currently, Shadow Gear is essential for almost every build, especially from mid-game onward. Even in earlier high-difficulty areas like Niflheim 2, Amicitia, and Rudus, having Penetration Shadow Gear is a huge advantage. From Episode 19 onward, it becomes almost mandatory. However, new players struggle to acquire Shadow Gear, which can make progression feel frustrating and discouraging.
2. Shadow Gear is Extremely Difficult to Obtain
The process of crafting Blue-Tier Shadow Gear requires multiple items refined to +7 or higher, making it highly RNG-dependent. Additionally, Shadow Gear components are often farmed in areas where having at least Penetration Shadow Gear is already expected, creating a catch-22 situation. This bottleneck stands in contrast to other gear progression paths that offer more accessible alternatives.
3. Using Refinement Tickets for Low-Tier Shadow Gear Won’t Harm the Economy
The market for Shadow Gear is already stagnant, so allowing refinement tickets to be used on low-tier Shadow Gear wouldn’t crash it. Instead, it would give newer players a more reasonable path to obtaining their first sets. Refinement tickets themselves are time-consuming to farm, requiring players to refine and break Illusion dungeon equipment. This change could make Illusion dungeons more relevant and potentially increase participation in boss hunting.
4. Encouraging Experimentation and Market Diversity
Making it slightly easier to refine Shadow Gear would encourage more players to experiment with different Shadow Gear setups and enchants, leading to a more dynamic and diverse market.

Isnt there already a +9 refine hammer for shadow gear that cost like 10m in materials?

@Sora Indeed, it’s in all practicality a +9 refine ticket for shadow gear.

@Sora it’s ai generated so you wont feel bad reading my “perfect” English.
I just wonder that we have such gap in gear progression like you can make almost everything mid-tier except shadow gear.

1. The Shadow Gear Market is Inactive
While true, to me shadow gear its more a lateral personal upgrade rather than buying them, a newbie would never buy them due to how expensive they are and a veteran already have plenty shadowdecons to afford crafting them.
2. Shadow Gear is Extremely Difficult to Obtain
This is not true, they are not hard but grindy and its not even a long grind, most of the maps that are needed to progress any class/job usually drops zeluniums, shadowdecons & even etel dust.
3. Using Refinement Tickets for Low-Tier Shadow Gear Won’t Harm the Economy
There is already two type of hammers for shadow gear.
4. Encouraging Experimentation and Market Diversity
This will not have the effect on the market that you want due to previous points.
Personal take: This is a good & fair grind (PTSD from other servers shadow gear
) , when i started playing took me like 1 week to get full shadow blue gear +9 due to how the loot is distributed on mid/end game maps, maybe a revamp to the random refine hammer to roll higher more often would help newcomers.

To be honest, i dont think its a something that we need, why?
A).We already have +9 Hammer and Random Hammer (1-10 iirc)
B).Shadows are not that hard to obtain in my opinion, why?
- If you have enought damage you can farm the shadowdecons (even some clases in early/mid can do this slowly but can do it, just ask DcB DK)
- If you dont have damage, you can do heirloom farm that will give you all that you need aside shadowdecon, you will get MVP mats and Maldango Can that you will be able to transform in random shadows in paramarket that you can recycle to get Shadow that will help you to craft the shadows that you want and the +9 hammer, also heirloom its gonna give you Muh coins that you can sell and if you are lucky some BSB, then you can literally buy some shadowdecon and craft your own shadows.
Anyways, srry for my broken english and have a good day sir.
